The Hindol welfare Association (HWA), Bhubaneswar activity report for 2011-12 are here under.
As per the programme we have carried out following activities.
1. Health Care

The Association has conducted two health camps, one at village Patla on 03.04.2011 & another at village Sundarapal of Baunsapokhari G.P of Hindol Block on 30.10.2011. In the health camps free medical checkup of ailing people have been done by a group of experienced specialist doctors along with distribution of medicines free of cost by experienced pharmacists. In each camp more than nine hundred patients were benefited.  
2. Forest:-

During Vanamohachhab 2011 (i.e. 01.07.2011 to 07.07.2011) nearly 1500 trees are planted in the village Panchapada of Hindol Sub-Division of Dhenkanal District. The Association is now regularly in touch with local forest authorities and communicating the information on theft of forest under Hindol range. This has drastically reduced theft of forest in the area.
3. Anti-corruption Activities:-

An anticorruption campaign was conducted at Hindol Sub-Divisional Head Quarter on 04.11.2011. In the campaign first a mass rally was conducted starting from Hindol Block office to Hindol High School. Then a meeting was conducted in the town hall. In the meeting the invited guest such as DSP Vigilance, Dhenkanal and Inspector Vigilance, Dhenkanal were present. Then an office of the association was opened at Hindol town to check corruption now going on at different offices by monitoring the disposal of public grievances on first come first serve basis.
            The association have appointed an office co-ordinator there who is receiving the copies of the complains raised at different offices by common man and follow up action is being taken to solve their problems in the concerned offices on first cum first serve principle.
4. Meeting with Collector Dhenkanal:

On 02.05.2011 a group of people nearly 100 Nos. from different parts of Hindol sub-division along with association members approach the collector Dhenkanal regarding non-execution of various developmental works properly in Hindol Block. Out of this group, one delegate of association comprising of President, Vive-President, Secretary, Joint-Secretary, Two Executive Body members, two advisory committee members of association and three local associates of association  discussed with the collector, in presence of some of the district level officials present, on the issues and a proceeding was drawn up for effective implementation.
5. PIL on Balimi - Babandha PMGSY road ( 14 Km. length)-

The road was constructed during 2008. Thereafter the road was damaged about 60% within 2 years of it’s construction. By now more than 80% road has been damaged. As per PMGSY guideline the road to be maintained by the executing agency up to 5 years of its construction. Since no such repair works has been taken up yet, the association has decided to go for PIL in the High Court. The process of collecting documents to file PIL is under process and it will be filed soon in the court.
6. Pollution due stone crusher units in Hindol Block:

Due to stone crusher units functioning by the side of the road leading from Gudiakateni Chowk to Hindol town, heavy pollution is occurring in the nearby villages creating health hazards to human and animals. As advised by the collector during discussion on 02.05.2011, we have approached the State Pollution Control Board, Bhubaneswar for its effective solution. The collector Dhenkanal is also kind enough and agreed not to give further permission to stone crusher unit likely to be setup near the said road side, as well as habitat villages.
7. Reliability of electric supply to Hindol Area.

The association is constantly perusing with OPTCL authoiries for construction of one 132/33KV Grid sub-station at Khajuriakata in Hindol Block. As a result the tendering process has already been completed and the work is likely tobe started soon. This will bring reliability of power supply in the sub-division area.  This was a long standing public demand of the area.
8. Establishment of industry near Samile Chowk: -

The association have approached Khadi & Village Industries board , Odihsa to establish one Khadi Industy at Satmikle Chowk in Hinodl Block. It is now under process and likely to be approved soon. This will help in uplifting the economic standard of the local poor people as Hindol sub-division is industrially very backward.
9. Help to homeless families due to Fire mishap:-

Severe fire mishap occurred at Village Kansara of Kansara G.P and Baradapal of Baunsapokhari G.P on dtd. 24.02.2012 and (4.3.2012 & 6.3.2012) making 200 families and 50 families homeless respectively. Our association immediately extended help to the affected families by distributing sarees and  other materials.
